Creative Worlds
Different Interests. New Paths. New Forms of Expression.
Not everything that inspires my creative work finds its way into the virtual galleries. Over the years, I have also developed projects that grew out of my interest in other subjects and my desire to bring my own ideas to life in different ways.
Here I present a selection of these projects. They show how personal interests can lead to very different kinds of creative work – from interactive multimedia projects to an ongoing exploration of the I Ching.
The World of the Maya
I was fascinated by the Maya culture, its writing system, its calendar and its distinctive understanding of time. This fascination led to interactive multimedia projects that invited visitors to explore this ancient world in their own way.
These works belong to an early phase of my exploration of digital media. I was intrigued by the idea of doing more than simply presenting information – I wanted to make it possible to experience it through interaction.
The I Ching – The Book of Changes
The I Ching has been part of my life for many years. Its texts and images explore change and the many situations we encounter in life. They encourage us to reflect on our own experiences and look at things from different perspectives.
This interest has led to several digital projects, including an online oracle and the website iging.info. My engagement with the I Ching remains an ongoing process that continues to raise new questions and inspire new ideas.
When Ideas Become Projects
The projects presented here differ in both subject and approach. They reflect interests that have evolved over time and found new forms of expression.
For me, that is part of the appeal: taking an idea, developing it further and discovering what it might become.
And who knows – perhaps something new will emerge one day.
